Adopt a American Pit Bull Terrier (short coat)

American Pit Bull Terrier (short coat) Dog

Hendrix the Dog needs a home

Hendrix was rescued in Houston after Hurricane Harvey. He's a sweet, happy dog who greets his caregivers with exuberance each day. Hendrix loves playing with his toys, but he's also a quick learner who focuses well during training sessions. He loves people, too, and is eager to please. Hendrix has done well with all the dogs he's met at the Sanctuary, but he is reactive toward other dogs while on a leash. Born in 2016, Hendrix is a strong dog who can be quite jumpy and mouthy. At Dogtown, he's working on basic training and impulse control. He's learning to be calm for leashing and is practicing " parallel walks with other dogs (where he walks parallel to, but a comfortable distance away from, other dogs) to reduce his reactivity. He'll do best in an active home where his people can continue to work on his training and enrichment.
